DESH-BONDHU International Remittance Juddah Shonshod, a global platform representing Bangladeshi remittance warriors working and residing in 195 countries, has formally sought permission from the Election Commission of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send an international delegation to observe the upcoming national election in Bangladesh.
In a written application addressed to the Honorable Chief Election Commissioner and the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the organization emphasized that free, fair, and credible elections are the cornerstone of democracy and public trust. As stakeholders deeply connected to the country’s democratic future, the organization expressed its belief that transparent and impartial election monitoring plays a crucial role in strengthening confidence in the electoral process, both at home and abroad.
According to the application, DESH-BONDHU International Remittance Juddah Shonshod intends to deploy a 15-member international delegation to Bangladesh solely for the purpose of observing the election. The organization assured the authorities that the proposed delegation would be strictly non-partisan, independent, and fully compliant with the laws, regulations, and institutional framework of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The stated objective of the delegation is to support transparency, accountability, and credibility in the electoral process, while providing an accurate and responsible assessment to the global Bangladeshi diaspora. The organization highlighted that millions of expatriate Bangladeshis, who contribute significantly to the national economy through remittances, have a strong and legitimate interest in the democratic stability and governance of their homeland.
The application further requested guidance from the Election Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the necessary procedures, accreditation requirements, and formalities required for international election observation.
DESH-BONDHU International Remittance Juddah Shonshod reaffirmed its full respect for the sovereignty of Bangladesh and its commitment to abiding by all national laws and institutional processes. The organization expressed hope that the authorities would consider the request positively and at the earliest opportunity.
The application was signed by Advocate ANM Essa, Founder and Convener of the organization, along with senior central committee leaders and members representing various countries, reflecting the global nature of the platform.
